and Tony -
Karen and I returned home last evening. I wanted you both to know immediately how wonderful and productive I thought the meeting was. You created something special for the field of tissue engineering that we will all remember. Thanks for involving us. To John Lambris - You and your team created a wonderful meeting. It was a pleasure to get to know you. Best regards, Peter C.
Johnson, MD, President Symposium in Mykonos Very Successful "Drs. Antonios Mikos and Kiki Hellman co-chaired the very successful meeting entitled: Symposium on Tissue Engineering Science: Critical Elements in the Research and Development Continuum" in MyKonos, Greece from May 19-24. Attended by nearly one hundred persons representing 19 countries, the meeting proved to be a fertile forum for discussion regarding the rate limiting steps and immediate goals in the field. A strategic report is being planned which will outline the issues discussed. This will serve as a nidus for input from tissue engineering leaders worldwide so as to strengthen the focus and impact of our exciting field. The Tissue Engineering Society International, which endorsed the meeting, is pleased with this excellent outcome." Statement from Peter C. Johnson, MD, President of the TESI.
